Some rooms call for a beautiful window treatment. Others call for a little geometry, a full-size template and custom-bent hardware.
This room began with a striking curved window nook surrounded by beautiful dark millwork. The existing shutters offered privacy and light control, but they also made this end of the room feel darker and more visually enclosed. During the renovation, our client transformed the nook into a luxurious bathing retreat, placing a freestanding bathtub beneath a delicate chandelier.
The Architecture Was Beautiful, but the Windows Needed Softness.

Because the curve was unique to the room, a standard rod would never have followed it properly. Our installers, Gil and his team, carefully created a full-size template documenting the precise shape and angles of the wall. Those measurements were then sent to Brimar, where a custom curved traverse system was fabricated specifically for this project.

Watching the template come together is one of those behind-the-scenes moments most people never see. It is a careful process, but one that ensures the finished hardware follows every curve perfectly.
Layering Softness

We designed the treatment in two layers. Soft sheers gently filter the natural light while preserving privacy, while fuller decorative drapery panels frame the alcove and bring warmth, texture and softness to the surrounding millwork.
Rather than competing with the beautiful architecture, the custom curved hardware allows the fabric to flow naturally with the room, creating an elegant backdrop for the freestanding soaking tub.
Finishing the Room

Before

After
To complete the design, we carried the same treatment to another window in the room using a straight rod finished with coordinating crystal finials. Repeating those details throughout the space creates continuity and allows every part of the room to feel thoughtfully connected.
This project was a wonderful collaboration with the Juniper Hill Furniture & Design team, who selected the beautiful interior finishes and fabrics. Our role was to engineer the custom window treatment and hardware solution that completed their vision.
The finished room feels lighter, softer and wonderfully indulgent—a private retreat designed around something our client truly enjoys: taking a long, relaxing bath.
Projects like this remind us that custom window treatments are about much more than fabric. Sometimes the most beautiful result begins with listening to the client, respecting the architecture and creating something that simply doesn’t exist off the shelf.
